The recalled bed rails violate the mandatory standard for adult portable bed rails because users can become entrapped within the bed rail or between the bed rail and the side of the mattress, posing a serious entrapment hazard and risk of death by asphyxiation. A recall notice is the manufacturer and the CPSC telling you what they will do about a product. The notice itself is the authority — the summary below just explains the terms you will see in it.

Term in the noticeWhat it means
Remedy The action the company will take. The notice states exactly which remedy applies to your product — follow the notice, not this table.
Refund The company repays you, usually on proof of purchase or on return of the item.
Repair The company supplies a fix or a part. The notice says how to get it.
Replace The company swaps the item for one that does not have the fault.
Units How many were sold. Useful for judging whether your item is likely in the batch.
Sold at Retailers and dates. If your product came from elsewhere, check the model number against the notice before assuming it is or is not covered.
Consumer contact The company’s own line for the recall. This is who the CPSC directs you to.

Match the product, not just the name. Recall notices are specific: they name models, batch numbers, colours or date codes. The same brand can have one model recalled and another untouched. Check the identifying detail in the notice against the label on your item before you decide.

How often does it update? The list is checked against the CPSC each time the page loads, and anything newer than the last build is added automatically. You will see a line above the results saying what was found.
My product is not on the list. Does that mean it is safe? No. It means it has not been the subject of a CPSC recall notice published since February 2023. It may have been recalled earlier, or not at all. The CPSC’s own search is the complete record.
A different model from the same brand was recalled. Is mine affected? Only if your model matches what the notice describes. Recalls name specific models, batch numbers or date codes. Check the identifying details in the notice against your own item.
